New to the market, 1968 Chris Craft Commander 27 with Crusader 305 power available in Rye, New York. This mostly authentic Chris Craft Commander is well maintained in mostly original condition. A classic cruiser typical of the early fiberglass yachts, she is simple and straight forward. On deck, she has the traditional pilot house helm with helm and companion seats which fold out of the way when not in use. Opening front windshields and sliding side windows allow for plenty of cross breeze beneath the soft top. Aft is a large carpeted cockpit with open seating for six or more. Under the flush cockpit deck lies the Crusader 305 power with new exhausts and mufflers.
Below, classic Chris Craft style, vee berths forward, dinette to starboard and galley are with sink, icebox and propane 2 burner cook top to port. Aft port side is the enclosed head with sink. All upholstery is in good condition, the trim gleams.
This is a nice tidy classic yacht for those who value tradition. She cruises at 14 knots at 2800RPM burning a meager 10 gal/hour. This small cruiser is a fine vessel for a couple to gunk hole around the local waterways or to explore the far reaches of Buzzard’s Bay. This is a salt water boat, well maintained and lovely kept. A fine classic, perfect for any seaman.
