She was constructed during the pinnacle years of Nautor-Swan as an introductory model to their extensive line of quality built racer / cruisers. In fact the cost to produce this particular model was said to have exceeded its price. This was accepted as a means to expose the brand to sailors who would eventually move up to the larger, more profitable models. She is a most sensible Swan with her large cockpit, walk-through companionway and scoop transom, the Swan 36 is indeed a rare find on the brokerage market.
